OUR STORY
HERITAGE
Before ME & JOE was launched, high-quality eyewear at a fair price was difficult to find. A handful of companies controlled most of the eyewear industry, often keeping prices artificially high while compromising on quality. We wanted our customers never to have to choose between exceptional design, premium quality and a fair price.
Our challenge was to modernize the idea of a simple pair of glasses. We travelled to Italy in search of the right manufacturers for our debut collection. The ones who stood out were true artisans from the Dolomites, with decades of experience perfecting every stage of eyewear production, from handcrafted acetate to premium metalwork.
HANDMADE IN ITALY
Entirely handmade in Italy, our glasses are produced by some of the world’s most skilled eyewear manufacturers, combining a rich manufacturing tradition dating back to 1970 with cutting-edge technology. Each of our frames is made from the highest-quality materials and undergoes rigorous inspection by our quality-control team. At ME & JOE, we choose craftsmanship and tradition over mass production. This meticulous process takes more than 90 days and involves over 100 individual steps from start to finish.
THE LENSES
Our premium Carl Zeiss Synchrony lenses provide exceptional optical clarity and advanced protection. With 100% UVA and UVB protection, scratch-resistant coatings and more than 175 years of expertise behind them, they help ensure clear and comfortable vision. Cutting-edge technology is at the heart of our lens selection, and only high-quality CR39 lenses are used. We offer three lens categories, designed to suit different weather conditions, environments and everyday moments:
Photochromic lenses adapt to changing light conditions, becoming darker as exposure to sunlight increases.
Polarized lenses reduce glare and enhance contrast, providing sharper vision on reflective surfaces such as roads, water and snow.
Classic CR39 lenses are available in a carefully selected range of colours.
Every ME & JOE frame is designed in-house. Our creative process begins with carefully curated mood boards, followed by initial sketches and the detailed development of each design before prototyping. Every element of each eyewear model is considered down to the smallest detail. Our designs are created for individuals who express their own identity and choose to stand apart from the crowd.
